Recent Changes in the Retirement KITAS Regulation :

Commencing on August 22, 2023, the Ministry of Immigration Indonesia has implemented a revised regulation, allowing expatriates with retirement plans in Indonesia to prolong their stay for up to 5 years.
 

Under the updated regulation, those aged 60 and beyond are eligible to apply for the five-year Retirement KITAS scheme by providing documentation affirming a minimum monthly pension fund of USD 3,000.

Requirements for Applying for the New 5-year Retirement KITAS:

  1. Retirees can enjoy a 5-year residency in Indonesia through the Retirement KITAS.

  2. No sponsorship is required for retirees applying for the five-year Retirement KITAS, although sponsorship remains mandatory for the one-year Retirement KITAS.

  3. The option to apply for the one-year Retirement KITAS is still available for retirees.

  4. To be eligible for the five-year Retirement KITAS, retirees must be aged 60 or above. If you want to stay in Indonesia long term, but you are not 60 yet, you might want to check Second Home Visa

  5. Retirees are obligated to submit a commitment statement to deposit funds, at least US$50,000, into an account in their name at a state-owned bank within a maximum period of 90 days from the date the Limited Stay Permit is granted.

  6. Providing evidence of a minimum pension fund of USD 3,000 per month or USD 36,000 per year is a prerequisite for applicants.

Updated Requirements for Applying for the New 1-year Retirement KITAS:

  1. The Retirement KITAS allows retirees to stay in Indonesia for a duration of one year.

  2. Retirees seeking the one-year Retirement KITAS must secure a sponsor who will serve as their guarantor throughout their stay in Indonesia.

  3. To be eligible for the one-year Retirement KITAS, retirees must be aged 60 or above.

  4. Providing evidence of a minimum pension fund of USD 3,000 per month or USD 36,000 per year is a prerequisite for applicants.

What Requirements Must I Meet to Acquire a Retirement KITAS?

In addition to satisfying the age criteria, those seeking a Retirement Visa must also:

  1. Declare no intentions of working in Indonesia

  2. Be willing to hire a maid or domestic helper

  3. Agree to sign a lease agreement for a duration of at least one year

Currently, citizens of most countries are eligible to apply for a retirement visa, with the exception of individuals from Afghanistan, Guinea, Israel, North Korea, Cameroon, Liberia, Niger, Nigeria, and Somalia.

Steps to Obtain Your Retirement KITAS

  1. Submit all relevant documentation for the KITAS, and we will verify to ensure a successful application.

  2. We will upload the documents to the online immigration system. Once the visa is approved, the applicant will receive an E-Visa (Electronic Visa) that needs to be printed.

  3. The applicant can now enter Indonesia using the E-Visa.

  4. Upon arrival in Indonesia, the applicant will undergo biometrics, including taking a profile photo and providing fingerprints.

  5. The KITAS (Stay Permit) will be issued and handed to the applicant within 3 days.

  6. Within 14 days of KITAS issuance, you must register at the civil departments to obtain your SKSKPS (Certificate of Family Formation of Temporary Residents) and STM (Police Certificate). Our team will help you with this.

Requirements :
