Spouse KITAS & Family KITAS

Spouse KITAS (Kartu Izin Tinggal Terbatas) and Family KITAS are types of limited stay permits in Indonesia granted to foreign spouses and family members of Indonesian citizens or foreign residents residing in Indonesia.

Requirements for Spouse KITAS

  1. Marriage Certificate: Proof of a legal and recognized marriage to an Indonesian citizen or foreigner holding a valid KITAS/KITAP.

  2. Passport : Valid passport with at least 18 months of remaining validity 

  3. Proof of Financial Capability: Proof of financial stability, such as a bank statement, to demonstrate the ability to cover living expenses during the stay eq USD 2500 under foreigner name or Indonesian spouse name. 

  4. Proof of Accommodation: Evidence of suitable accommodation in Indonesia for the foreign spouse and family.

  5. Passport-Sized Photos: Recent passport-sized photographs adhering to the specified format.


What is the duration of a Spouse KITAS?
The Spouse KITAS is typically issued for one year and can be extended annually.

Can the Spouse KITAS holder work in Indonesia?

Yes, with additional authorization, a Spouse KITAS holder can apply for a work permit (IMTA) to legally work in Indonesia.

Can family members join under the Family KITAS?

Yes, family members of a KITAS/KITAP holder can apply for a Family KITAS, including spouse and children.

How long does it take to process a Spouse KITAS application?

3 Working days E-visa after we receive all of your documents and from that E-visa to KITAS after you finger print it will be around 5-7 working days. 

Can a Spouse KITAS holder travel outside Indonesia during the KITAS validity?

Yes, a Spouse KITAS holder can travel in and out of Indonesia within the KITAS validity by obtaining an Exit Re-entry Permit (ERP) from the immigration office.

Is it possible for a foreign individual to obtain a Dependent KITAS when their spouse is non Indonesian but holds a KITAS?
Yes, foreigners can obtain a Dependent KITAS (Kartu Izin Tinggal Terbatas) if their spouse holds a KITAS (Limited Stay Permit) or a KITAP (Permanent Stay Permit) in Indonesia. The Dependent KITAS allows the family members, typically spouse and children, to legally reside in Indonesia and accompany the principal KITAS or KITAP holder during their stay.


Can dependents work or start a business in Indonesia under a Dependent KITAS?

Dependent KITAS holders are generally not allowed to work or engage in business activities. They would need to apply for a separate work permit or business visa if they wish to do so.
